To Thomas S. Monson, the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
To the Head of Eastern European Mission.
To the Head of the Yekaterinburg Mission.
From his brother, Yuri.
Dear President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!
Being saved by Jesus Christ more than once, I am eternally indebted to him.
Therefore, I consider it my duty to our Heavenly Father to bring the following to your attention.
To date, much to my regret, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (hereinafter referred to as the Church) does not follow the commandments set forth in the scriptures – in the Book of Mormon, in the Bible and in the book "The Doctrine and Covenants."
So let's start with the tithe.
It is said in the book "Doctrine and Covenants" (hereinafter referred to as the D&C), section 119, verse 4 and verse 5 that “4 And after that, those who have thus been tithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall be a standing law unto them forever, for my holy priesthood, saith the Lord.
5 Verily I say unto you, it shall come to pass that all those who gather unto the land of Zion shall be tithed of their surplus properties, and shall observe this law, or they shall not be found worthy to abide among you.”
It appears from verse 4 and 5 clearly that, first of all, the tithe shall be paid once a year, and, secondly, the tithe shall be paid of “all their interest”. What does “all their interest” mean? The income can be either net or gross. It is clearly said in the D&C, section 119, verse 5 that they “shall be tithed of their surplus properties.” That is why I see that the tithe shall be paid once a year of surplus properties, as required by the Lord.
What is really going on? Is it the way the tithe is paid?
To date, the tithe is paid every month or week of the salary.
Church leaders appeal to the book “Gospel Principles”, in which it is written (chapter 32, page 202) that “This shall be the beginning of the tithing of my people. And after that, those who have thus been tithed shall pay one-tenth of all their interest annually; and this shall be a standing law unto them forever "(D&C 119:3-4). The First Presidency has explained that “one-tenth of all their interest annually" refers to our income (see First Presidency letter, Mar. 19, 1070)”.
Please, draw your attention and compare, whether what is written in “Gospel Principles” corresponds to what is written in the D&C.
The verse 5, section 119, of the D&C, in which it is said, that “5 Verily I say unto you, it shall come to pass that all those who gather unto the land of Zion shall be tithed of their surplus property, and shall observe this law, or they shall not be found worthy to abide among you” is lost in the book “Gospel Principles”.
Now, please, turn your attention to what Jesus Christ has said to the residents of the American continent. It is said in the Book of Mormon, 3 Nephi, chapter 11, verse 40 that “And whoso shall declare more or less than this, and establish it for my doctrine, the same cometh of evil, and is not built upon my rock; but he buildeth upon bsandy foundation, and the gates of hell stand open to receive such when the floods come and the winds beat upon them”
Thus, “Gospel Principles” proclaims less than the D&C and, consequently, the book, which is called the “Gospel Principles”, comes from the devil as it proclaims less than what was said by Jesus Christ.
But that is not all.
In addition to the improperly inflated tithe the leadership of the Church proclaims to pay:
1. Fast offerings
2. Parish Mission Fund
3. General Missionary Fund
4. The Book of Mormon
5. Humanitarian aid
6. Building of temples
7. The Perpetual Education Fund
8. Other (please specify)
Our Heavenly Father gave us the commandment to pay the tithe through His Son.
Who gave commandments to proclaim higher tithe? Wasn’t it Satan?
It turns out that the Church steals from people for its magnificent temples and for many other luxurious things in temples and on general conferences. You wear luxurious clothes and place things created with your hands in temples.
Don’t you know that the Lord does not live in temples made with hands (Bible, Acts, chapter 7, verse 48)? “Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet…”
For whom do you build these magnificent temples? In my opinion, you build them, first of all, for yourself to preside over people and to sit in fine clothes.
Do you read the Book of Mormon?
It is said in the Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi, chapter 28, verses 13 and 14 that “13 They rob the poor because of their fine sanctuaries; they rob the poor because of their fine clothing; and they persecute the meek and the poor in heart, because of their pride they are puffed up.
14 They wear stiff necks and high heads; yea, and because of pride, and wickedness, and abominations, and whoredoms, they have all gone astray save it be a few, who are the humble followers of Christ; nevertheless, they are led, that in many instances they do err because they are taught by the precepts of men”.
To date, members of the Church are edified with the teachings of Presidents of the Church. Are the teachings of Presidents of the Church from God or from man? If the teachings of Presidents of the Church are from God, they must be called the teachings of God, but they are called the teachings of Presidents rather than of God.
Finally, it is the most important that people do not come to the Church but leave it because of the improperly inflated tithe and other takings.
Did you read the Bible?
It is said in the Bible, Matthew, chapter 23, verses 13 and 14 and Luke, chapter 11, verse 46 that “13 But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
14 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widow’s houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.”
“46 And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.”
Don’t you act in such a way, which is written in these verses?
In my opinion, as the First Presidency of the Church has distorted the law of the tithe deliberately with the intention of making money, the priesthood of our Church has been taken away. This is testified with verse 4, section 43 (D&C), where it is said that “But verily, verily, I say unto you, that none else shall be appointed unto this gift except it be through him; for if it be taken from him he shall not have power except to appoint another in his stead.”
and verses 34, 35, and 36 section 121 (D&C) – “34 Behold, there are many called, but few are chosen. And why are they not chosen?
35 Because their hearts are set so much upon the things of this world, and aspire to the honors of men, that they do not learn this one lesson –
36 That the rights of the priesthood are inseparably connected with the powers of heaven, and that the powers of heaven cannot be controlled nor handled only upon the principles of righteousness.”
Once again I repeat to you, if the Church has distorted the law of the tithe with the intention of making money, the priesthood of our Church has been taken away.
To date, in my opinion, you got the seat of the President of the Church but not the priesthood.
Let’s come to the last part.
I want to draw your attention to polygamy, which existed in our Church, and which was introduced by the prophet Joseph Smith.
It is said in D&C, section 132, verse 38 that “38 David also received many wives and concubines, and also Solomon and Moses my servants, as also many others of my servants, from the beginning of creation until this time; and in nothing did they sin save in those things which they received not of me.”
On the other hand, it is said in the Book of Mormon, Jacob, chapter 2, verses 23, 24, and 27 that "23 But the word of God burdens me because of your grosser crimes. For behold, thus saith the Lord: This people begin to wax in iniquity; they understand not the scriptures, for they seek to excuse themselves in committing whoredoms, because of the things which were written concerning David, and Solomon his son.
24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.”
“27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none".
The Lord justifies polygamy in the revelations of Joseph Smith but, on the other hand, it is clearly said in the Book of Mormon that “For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none”. The contradiction between the revelations of Joseph Smith to the Book of Mormon is obvious.
Therefore I dare say that the prophet Joseph Smith was mistaken in his revelations regarding polygamy. Therefore there should not be polygamy in the Church.
I am writing this to you in order not to destroy the Church but to strengthen it. So Satan aims to destroy the Church for it was restored by Jesus Christ through our first prophet Joseph Smith.
Please, accept criticism with dignity as a believer and I beg of you, respond to my letter personally, don’t entrust the preparation of the answer to anyone because I am writing this to you, as to the Head of the Church for today.
I beg of you, pray to our Lord for the rights of the priesthood to be restored in our Church.
Pray for your eyes to be turned on to the essence of the scriptures, and for you to understand the truth of the scriptures.
Your brother, Yuri.
